The Stanley Nut

Our famous landmark. Take the chairlift or 15 minutes walk to the top. Walk around the top (approx 45 min's) and take in spectacular views of the surrounding countryside, beaches and waters.

Tarkine Wilderness 

Spend the day touring along the "South Arthur Forest Drive" and explore wild coastline and ancient rain rainforest.

Dip Falls

Take the short walk to the bottom, and then across the bridge at the top to another vantage point.You can then drive a little further up the road for a short walk through the rain forest, to see one of Tasmania's many "big trees".

Historic Colonial fishing Village

Stanley was first colonised by the English in the 1880's. It still maintains many of the Inns, churches and homesteads from that era. It has been and still is one of Tasmania's main fishing ports. 

Historic Highfield House (circa 1835)

This grand Georgian homestead was built to house the director of the Van Diemens land company, and is now open to the public.

Water Wheel Creek

Timber Heritage Experience features a working bush tram way, and guided interpretive tour of the rain forest, demonstrating the way the early pioneers worked in our bush.

Woolnorth, Cape Grim & Wind farm.

A variety of tours of one of Tasmania's biggest farms. Breath some of the world's cleanest air at Cape Grim on Tassie's north west tip and marvel at the rugged west coast shores.

Arthur River Cruises

Cruise up the Arthur River into the Tarkine Wilderness. Compared to other wilderness river cruises, on the MV George Robinson, you'll be with a small group, enjoy a BBQ in the rain forest and have the option of an extended walk in the rainforest.

Stanley Seal Cruises

Take a 1½ hrs cruise to see the local seal colony. Departs from Stanley wharf.
