You'll be exhilarated by breathing the worlds cleanest air** on your short walk to "The Edge Of The World" at the mouth of The Arthur River.

Standing here, you look out over one of the largest expanses of water in the world. Sailing west from here, you'd miss the bottom of Africa, and not find land until you hit South America.

At this point, you could turn and retrace your steps back to Stanley, calling in to Tarkine Forest Adventures At Dismal Swamp. This would mean that you do not have to drive over any gravel roads, and you would be back in Stanley after a total of 3 or 4 hours.

Or you could choose to continue your adventure into the Tarkine on the South Arthur Forest Drive. This will mean that you have to drive on gravel roads for approximately one and a half hours (they are in perfect condition).

You can visit isolated Lobster and Abalone fisherman's shack settlements, in sheltered coves of the wild Tarkine west coast, before tuning east and making your way toward the famous Tarkine rainforest. Have a picnic lunch then take your pick of short walks at Julius River, Lake Chisholm, The Milkshakes and the Sumac lookout. Then continue your relaxing drive back via the Kunnanah Bridge through lush green dairy country back to Stanley. This itinerary would take you somewhere between 5 - 7 hours.
